Actually we did not use and instead unscrewed the top channel and managed to slide all of the slats into place then successfully measured the spacing we required.

Good quality products cut exactly to size. Easy to put together if you're reasonably handy, getting the mitres closed perfectly can be a little fiddly but the finished result is very close once installed. Exceptional customer service and support. Would highly recommend slat-co.
Excellent product, easy to assemble although I recommend using flat head screws for top of gate as the tech screws stick up to much, I used the butt head screws
